JoJo – Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 3 Review

Where’s episode 2? Read this post to find out why I skipped it.

First things first, we have a proper OP now! Well, we had one since episode 2 but I didn’t review that, so I’m going to talk about it a bit here.

The song is good, though not nearly as catchy as Battle Tendency’s ‘Bloody Stream,’ or Stardust Crusaders’ ‘STAND PROUD.’ It’s something I’m sure will grow on me in time, but I can tell immediately that it doesn’t grab me like the other OP songs did. Still, it’s upbeat, which fits this part of Diamond is Unbreakable. The second part, not so much, but I’m sure David Production will choose a fitting song then.

The animation for the OP is also good, though it lacks the well-known CG from the previous OPs. I did some research and found out that there was an animation group that did the CG before called Kamikaze Douga. For whatever reason, they didn’t work on this OP, and it shows. Does this mean that the OP is bad? Not at all. In fact, David Production’s charm is abundant, with teasers of future characters and events scattered about. There just isn’t any CG. I miss it, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter too much.

Anyway, episode 3 is entitled The Nijimura Brothers – Part 1.

JoJo – Diamond is Unbreakable Episode 1 Review

Alright, we’re finally here! Part 4 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has begun! I was so excited for this, you have no idea. I mean, you might have an idea, but I was ridiculously excited. So much so that I checked Crunchyroll’s JoJo page obsessively around noon on April 1st to see if it was up. (It aired at 12:30pm for me on the east coast. Good to know for the future!)

Anyway, I’ll be writing the reviews for this part a little differently than I was for part 3. I’ve read the manga this time, so I won’t be as surprised when things happen. That being said, I’m going to try my best not to spoil anything for future episodes, but nobody’s perfect so here’s a quick disclaimer: If you haven’t read the manga, be cautious. I’m going to try to not spoil anything that happens in the future, but if something slips out and I don’t notice, I’m sorry. I don’t think it’ll happen, though, but you never know.
