I know, I’m choosing the very last frame in the episode as my header image. It works, though.

            I’m not going to lie. I kind of dreaded reviewing this episode. Have you ever felt like you could kind of tell what was going to happen in something, be it a book, movie, or show and you didn’t really want to continue reading or watching because you were worried you might be right? That’s how I felt going into this, since the end of the previous episode set us up for something potentially happening to my favorite Stardust Crusaders character.

            Sigh. Well, no matter what, I’m going to have to review this, so I guess I should begin.

            If you follow my Twitter (and you should if you enjoy my writing!) you’ll know that I went on vacation and then caught a cold, which is why I’m just now squeaking out these reviews. I’m hideously late. That being said, I’m going to catch up with a vengeance because we’re at the part of the series everyone’s been anxiously waiting for – the DIO fight!

            I expect a lot to go on during these final episodes, so I’m going to keep the introductions brief.

First Time Review: Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure – Stardust Crusaders

Episode 40 – D’Arby the Player, part 1.

            At the end of the previous episode, our protagonists were greeted by DIO’s ‘butler,’ a peculiar looking man with a similar, metal-plated face as D’Arby from episodes 34 and 35. It goes without saying that this man must have some sort of relation to D’Arby, which can only mean bad things. If you recall, the previous D’Arby was calculating, conniving, and flat out tough to outwit. Jotaro had to literally bluff and make D’Arby believe his hand was so great that it couldn’t be beat.

            This D’Arby has to be difficult to defeat as well, since there aren’t too many episodes left in this part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, and I’d like to imagine the worst villains were saved for last.
