Skoshbox Review December 2016
I’m a bit late on this one, sorry! I’ve been busy with the holidays and adopting a new kitten, so Skoshbox was put on the backburner for longer than I’d like. That being said, this box was a very nice change from November’s and I was excited to review it ever since it arrived in the mail!
Bake Sweet Potato:
This is very interesting. I thought that it would taste more like sweet potato, but it’s really just sweet. I looked at the ingredients and dried sweet potato is there, but I still mainly tasted sweet. The texture is cookie-like, and slightly softer inside. I liked these, but I would have liked them more if they tasted more like a sweet potato. They’re still very pleasant without that flavor, though, and I can definitely see myself eating all of them.
Puru Mochi Tangerine:
These are individually wrapped gummy tangerine cubes. I expected them to taste like tangerine, and they did. They really, really did. These gummies are strong and I wouldn’t advise eating them if you don’t love tangerine. They aren’t very tart, as they’re covered in sugar but I think that’s a good thing. Without the sugar, the balance would be off and I wouldn’t like them very much.
The texture is a little softer than I prefer, so I wouldn’t buy these on my own. They aren’t bad at all, just not my favorite thing.
Big Bar Z Milk:
This is a sweet, cheesy snack puff. I didn’t quite know what I was expecting when I saw the package, since it’s very loud and in your face, but this snack isn’t very loud at all. It’s sweet, and the cheese is not overwhelming; in fact, I think the flavors complement each other well.
The texture is like that of an Umaibo, which you’ve seen me review several times in the past. I like this snack — it’s light, crispy, and sweet with a tiny bit of savory.
These are crispy butterscotch chocolate bites. They’re quite chocolaty, which is good, but the butterscotch taste is very masked by it, which is not so good. The interesting thing about them, though, is that they contain potato flakes, adding to the crispy texture.
I like these, but I would have liked them more if they contained a bit more butterscotch flavor. I love butterscotch, so more of that would have been perfect. 🙂
I do LOVE how big this pack is, though!
Frisk Black Mint:
The booklet in the Skoshbox specifically asked if I could handle these mints, and that frightened me a little. The Xylish gum from last month was really strong, but there was no warning about it in the booklet. These mints must be a lot stronger if they warrant a warning, right?
The container is nice; it’s plastic and opens up at the top. The mints are tiny, which also concerns me, since they’re supposedly so strong.
I decided to just try one of these and I’m glad I did. They are really strong. Stronger than Altoids, and I find those things really minty.
Do I like these? Eh, not particularly. They’re a bit too strong for me. I could never imagine eating two at once.
I will say that these clear the sinuses well if you’re sniffly!
Since I’ve been subscribed to Skoshbox for so long, they sent me an extra snack as a thank you. It’s a cola pop-rock candy, which I believe I’ve reviewed before so I won’t go into it here. I still really appreciate the freebie, though!
Verdict: This box was MILES better than the last one. The Pop Zack, the Sweet Potato, and the Tangerines were all in big packages, taking up most of the space in the box. The main complaint I had about last month’s box was how much empty space was there, and they addressed that well for December’s.
Plus, I enjoyed everything in the box, save for the mints. The mints, I think, are more of a novelty item at the end of the day.
