Trunks Premium Color Edition Figuarts Review

Trunks Premium Color Edition Figuarts Review

Confession: I didn’t like Dragonball Z as a teenager. I gave it a few shots, since it aired before Sailor Moon on Toonami (I believe it did, anyway) but it never really grabbed me. Perhaps it was partly due to how I never watched the beginning, or even attempted to find and rent some of the early episodes from Blockbuster (RIP). Either way, I didn’t enjoy it and I kind of forgot about giving it an honest shot again until recently.

Dragonball Z Kai helped me get the original story of DBZ without the filler, and it made the overall experience much more enjoyable. Of course, since I love figures, I ended up poking around the internet to see what was available. To no surprise, the answer was a lot.

As I had heard very nice things about most of the SH Figuarts Dragonball line, I figured I’d pick one out and see what I think. I was torn between Piccolo and Trunks; Vegeta was actually my favorite character but he had a few more versions than the other two and I didn’t want to have to pick between them, haha.

I ended up going for Trunks since an auction was ending within 5 minutes of me finding it and I figured it was fate. Or something.

Sanji 20th Anniversary Figuarts ZERO Review

Hello! It sure has been a while, hasn’t it? Unfortunately, I wasn’t doing too well the past few months with stress and illness related stuff, so I passed on reviewing Skoshbox or writing about anything, really. I’m doing a bit better now, but the January 2018 Skoshbox has yet to arrive for me, so ….

Figure review time!

Anime Figure Review: Sabo Variable Action Heroes

Anime Figure Review: Sabo Variable Action Heroes

As stated previously, I’ve somewhat recently gotten into One Piece, and I’m trying to obtain figures of characters I liked while reading the manga. While I like the Straw Hat crew, I found myself intrigued by Luffy’s sworn brother, Sabo. If anything, Sabo’s outfit and aesthetic are very interesting, and translate to figure sculpts well!

After poking around the internet (mainly MyFigureCollection, Mandarake, and eBay) I decided to pass on the Portrait of Pirates Sailing Again Sabo due to his inflated cost, especially in comparison to the Robin and Zoro from that line. (Zoro is more expensive than Robin, but not as bad as Sabo.) My second choice for this character was the Variable Action Heroes variety, which I assumed was like the Figma or SH Figuarts lines.

Anime Figure Review: Zoro POP Sailing Again

Anime Figure Review: Zoro POP Sailing Again

About a year ago, I decided to undertake the daunting task of reading all of One Piece. With the help of my local library system, I was able to quickly read through up to the most recent story arc, of which I now need to wait to borrow any more. That being said, I ended up really enjoying the series!

The figure lines featuring characters from the series span far and wide. Collecting everything is near impossible, and finding older figures sometimes proves pretty daunting. I discovered the Sailing Again line by Megahouse while browsing the internet about 70% through my journey reading the manga, and I decided that was the best line for me to own some figures from.

At the end of the day, I chose Nico Robin and Roronoa Zoro to purchase.

Zoro arrived recently, so I wrote up a review for him.

Anime Figure Review: Spike Spiegel ARTFX J

Anime Figure Review: Spike Spiegel ARTFX J

I’m starting a new post series all about reviewing anime figures and other related things. I don’t buy a ton of figures, but you can see pretty much everything I own on my MyFigureCollection page.

For my first review, I’ll be talking about the Spike Spiegel ARTFX J by Kotobukiya. This was a long awaited figure for me, as Cowboy Bebop was always one of my favorite series, but I never owned any merchandise for it save for a tiny Faye Valentine gashapon figure.
