TokyoTreat Classic Review May 2018

TokyoTreat Classic Review May 2018

I’m back with another TokyoTreat review! May’s theme is anime, as a play on the somewhat recent Ani-May trend a lot of websites and stores like to participate in.

Since I’m a fan of a decent amount of anime series, I was very excited to try this box out!

Figure Review: Sabo -Extra Battle- Figuarts ZERO – Hiken

Figure Review: Sabo -Extra Battle- Figuarts ZERO – Hiken

I know, another Sabo figure review. I wasn’t originally intending on even getting this figure, but I was surprised with it as a very early birthday present so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to write about it. ūüôā

This figure is from the Figuarts ZERO Extra Battle line. The Extra Battle line is as it sounds, a series of¬†One Piece¬†characters performing flashy battle moves. Technically, the line is called Chou Gekisen -Extra Battle-,’ but I’m calling it Extra Battle for simplicity’s sake.

The latest entry in the line (as of this writing) is Sabo using his Hiken, or Fire Fist, powers.

TokyoTreat Classic Review April 2018

TokyoTreat Classic Review April 2018

The last few months have been a bit hectic in terms of receiving Skoshboxes on time and with all of the snacks (because of the US customs facility my packages go through). The solution to that was to cancel, and even though I had been a subscriber for three or so years, I figured it was for the best.

After doing some research on other Japanese snack boxes, I settled on TokyoTreat at $25 a month. I went ahead and subscribed for three months, so I’ll be reviewing them until June, when I’ll decide whether to continue subscribing or not. (I probably will, though?)

The main difference between TokyoTreat and Skoshbox is the size of the basic, or classic box. The classic TokyoTreat contains a decent bit more than the small Skoshbox, so this review will be longer than previous.

MyJapanBox KitKat February 2018 Review

MyJapanBox KitKat February 2018 Review

I love KitKats. Japan loves KitKats. Unfortunately, I have never received any in a Skoshbox, so I figured I would try some from another subscription service.

I ended up going for MyJapanBox, since I went with them before for their One Piece box and their One Time Box page listed a KitKat variety.

Note: I had to Google Translate the packaging for these as there wasn’t an English pamphlet or anything in the box. I think I guessed the flavors well, but if not please let me know in the comments!!

As like last time, the box was plain brown with no discernible branding or anything.

Skoshbox Review: February 2018

Skoshbox February 2018 Review

Skoshbox Review: February 2018

As you have probably noticed, I didn’t write a Skoshbox review for a few months. I posted on my Twitter that I wasn’t feeling up to writing about November’s or December’s, due to holiday stress and such, but I fully intended on writing about January’s! Unfortunately, the box came very late (after the 20th) and two items were taken out of it by US customs due to having undeclared meat powder. That was a frustrating and disappointing experience, but thankfully February’s came with everything. (The box looked like a wreck though, and it didn’t come until the 17th.)

I wish I could write these sooner but they come very slowly to me! ūüôĀ Sorry about that!

The list of the items sent in this box is on Skoshbox’s official page.

Trunks Premium Color Edition Figuarts Review

Trunks Premium Color Edition Figuarts Review

Confession: I didn’t like Dragonball Z¬†as a teenager. I gave it a few shots, since it aired before¬†Sailor Moon¬†on Toonami (I believe it did, anyway) but it never really grabbed me. Perhaps it was partly due to how I never watched the beginning, or even attempted to find and rent some of the early episodes from Blockbuster (RIP). Either way, I didn’t enjoy it and I kind of forgot about giving it an honest shot again until recently.

Dragonball Z Kai helped me get the original story of DBZ without the filler, and it made the overall experience much more enjoyable. Of course, since I love figures, I ended up poking around the internet to see what was available. To no surprise, the answer was a lot.

As I had heard very nice things about most of the¬†SH Figuarts Dragonball line, I figured I’d pick one out and see what I think. I was torn between Piccolo and Trunks; Vegeta was actually my favorite character but he had a few more versions than the other two and I didn’t want to have to pick between them, haha.

I ended up going for Trunks since an auction was ending within 5 minutes of me finding it and I figured it was fate. Or something.
