JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Minissimo Buying Guide

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Minissimo Buying Guide

Minissimo are cute, somewhat petit figures much in the style of Nendoroids. I wrote about the Josuke Higashikata one quite a while back, and while he did have some problems (namely the value for the price,) he was very cute!

The Minissimo line is produced by Di Molto Bene, the same manufacturer of the Super Action Statue and Statue Legend lines. The first Minissimos released were Josuke Higashikata and Crazy Diamond. As of this writing (December 2017) only Parts 3 and 4 have had characters released! Three characters from Part 4 are still in the prototype stage, and no word has been said of any further releases. I personally hope this line isn’t discontinued, but it has been a while with no news…

EXTRA Note! This line, as far as I am aware, DOES NOT have any bootlegs! This is great news since it makes it easier to safely buy a figure without worrying about poor quality. This may change in the future but this line has been out for quite some time, so you’d think it’d have been bootlegged by now if it was going to be.

While I’m at it with the bold text, let me also throw out a disclaimer that the Amazon and eBay links are affiliate links that provide me a very small commission of off every purchase. This comes to no extra cost to you, but I want to let you know that they do help me out some! Thank you!

If a character is not listed, a Minissimo for them doesn’t exist! Ctrl + F to quickly go to your favorite part (using words for numbers)

MyJapanBox One Piece October 2017 Review

MyJapanBox One Piece October 2017 Review

In keeping up with the subscription box reviews, I’ve decided to pick up one box from a different service once in a while to write about! It’ll keep things interesting here, to say the least.

This month, I went for MyJapanBox. Seeing as how they have an entire One Time Box page, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to pick a box and go for it. Since I recently caught up on the One Piece manga (and since there’s no JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure box) I went for the box featuring goodies from the series.

(Note: If any pictures are JPEGgy, click them to make them bigger and clearer!)

Skoshbox Review: October 2017

Skoshbox Review: October 2017

Even though it arrived a bit later than usual, October’s Skoshbox was packed with full sized snacks! The info page was no longer the main one on the website, but luckily October’s was archived and still available to view. Honestly, I don’t really like how early Skoshbox posts the box’s contents — November’s hasn’t even shipped out yet and they’re already announcing what’s inside! Takes away from the surprise. Plus, some customers won’t receive their box in time for the page to still be on the current month. I’m on the east coast and packages from Japan like to take their time getting to me sometimes. 🙁

Anyway, that’s enough talk about delivery times and Skoshbox’s website. Let’s move on to the actual review for October 2017’s box!

Anime Figure Review: Sabo Variable Action Heroes

Anime Figure Review: Sabo Variable Action Heroes

As stated previously, I’ve somewhat recently gotten into One Piece, and I’m trying to obtain figures of characters I liked while reading the manga. While I like the Straw Hat crew, I found myself intrigued by Luffy’s sworn brother, Sabo. If anything, Sabo’s outfit and aesthetic are very interesting, and translate to figure sculpts well!

After poking around the internet (mainly MyFigureCollection, Mandarake, and eBay) I decided to pass on the Portrait of Pirates Sailing Again Sabo due to his inflated cost, especially in comparison to the Robin and Zoro from that line. (Zoro is more expensive than Robin, but not as bad as Sabo.) My second choice for this character was the Variable Action Heroes variety, which I assumed was like the Figma or SH Figuarts lines.

Skoshbox Review: September 2017

Skoshbox Review: September 2017

This month’s box arrived pretty much intact, and everything inside was safe and sound, thanks to the bag containing it all. (It’s a nice bag! Nicer than most grocery store’s bags around here, honestly.)

The bag was stuffed with six snacks and a bonus plush that I’ll talk about at the end of this post. Sadly, the little booklet containing information about what’s inside was gone and I was directed to their website, where the page had completely different snacks listed than what I received. My guess is that the list is of October’s box, which hasn’t shipped yet and was just pushed to be published too early. I don’t know for sure, though.

Since the website didn’t list the correct items, I had to research and find the snacks’ names and information on my own, which took some time. Unfortunately, I couldn’t seem to find many of the snacks on Tokyo Otaku Mode’s site to purchase directly, either. (I imagine it’s due to the shift over to snacks coming directly from Japan, as their site does say.)

On to the review…!

Anime Figure Review: Zoro POP Sailing Again

Anime Figure Review: Zoro POP Sailing Again

About a year ago, I decided to undertake the daunting task of reading all of One Piece. With the help of my local library system, I was able to quickly read through up to the most recent story arc, of which I now need to wait to borrow any more. That being said, I ended up really enjoying the series!

The figure lines featuring characters from the series span far and wide. Collecting everything is near impossible, and finding older figures sometimes proves pretty daunting. I discovered the Sailing Again line by Megahouse while browsing the internet about 70% through my journey reading the manga, and I decided that was the best line for me to own some figures from.

At the end of the day, I chose Nico Robin and Roronoa Zoro to purchase.

Zoro arrived recently, so I wrote up a review for him.
